Terms of service
These terms govern your use of the hosted Caterm website, account, software, and remote-machine services. By using the service, you agree to these terms.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally able to enter this agreement and provide accurate account information. You are responsible for activity under your account, your sign-in provider, device credentials, and promptly revoking access you no longer trust.
Permitted use
You may use Caterm only with machines, accounts, files, and networks you own or are expressly authorized to control. You must follow applicable law and respect others' rights.
Prohibited use
- Accessing a machine or data without authorization.
- Distributing malware, evading security controls, probing other users, or disrupting the service.
- Using Caterm for unlawful surveillance, credential theft, spam, or abusive automation.
- Creating, altering, distributing, or facilitating intimate imagery of a person without their consent, including AI-generated non-consensual intimate imagery (AI NCII), synthetic images, and sexual deepfakes. This prohibition applies to Caterm, remote agents, workflows, connected services, and any use of Google APIs through the service.
- Reselling the hosted service or reverse engineering non-open components except where law permits.
- Attempting to bypass plan limits or access controls.
Report suspected abuse to support@caterm.com. Violations may result in suspension or termination under these terms.
Remote access responsibilities
Remote desktop, files, and terminals can cause data loss or system changes. You are responsible for selecting a safe daemon user, limiting file roots, enabling terminal access only when appropriate, maintaining backups, patching machines, and verifying commands before execution. Caterm is not a backup, endpoint security, or disaster-recovery service.
Plans, billing, and cancellation
Prices and included features are shown at purchase. Stripe processes payments. Paid subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until canceled. You may cancel before renewal; ordinary subscription cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Deleting your Caterm account cancels its Stripe subscription immediately. Except where law requires otherwise, charges for a started billing period are non-refundable. Taxes may be added where applicable.
Beta and changes
Caterm is under active development. Features may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued. We may introduce limits reasonably needed for security, reliability, or plan enforcement. Material changes to paid plans will be communicated before they take effect where practical.
Your content and software license
You retain rights in your files and machine data. You grant us the limited rights needed to transmit and process that data to provide the service. Open-source Caterm code is licensed under its repository license; the hosted service and associated branding may include additional rights not granted by that license.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using Caterm at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, security risk, nonpayment, legal requirements, or conduct that threatens users or infrastructure. Where reasonable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to cure.
Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Caterm is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or loss of access. Caterm's aggregate liability for the service will not exceed the amount you paid for it during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so these limits may not fully apply to you.
Indemnity and disputes
You agree to be responsible for claims arising from your unlawful use, unauthorized machine access, or violation of these terms. The operator of each hosted deployment must identify its governing law, venue, and legal entity before commercial launch; mandatory consumer protections in your location continue to apply.

This is a product-ready baseline, not legal advice. Before accepting payment, the service operator should have counsel confirm its legal entity, address, governing law, refund rules, tax treatment, and regional consumer/privacy requirements.
